Because we believe that competition in both local retail and service provision has a vital role to play in keeping the overall cost of rural living down, we believe that this will not only offer you the opportunity to pay less for locally produced products and services, but will also help to stem the flow of local people leaving the area in order to find employment.

For example it is not always realised that when you order groceries online it is actually packed and delivered by people employed in or near that particular local area.

This will also be of benefit to the particular local retailers or service providers as their potential customers will be able to easily check to see if you are offering any special discounts on a specific product or service.

They can then decide to pick up the product personally from their local franchise or independent store or save costs by employing an independent service provider who lives in that particular area.

Another less obvious advantage to buying goods and services from a locally based provider is that it helps us all to reduce our own personal carbon footprints.
